I have extreme trust issues, and my girlfriend is tired of being questioned all the time. whenever she goes somewhere alone or with her friends I feel insecure. I don't want to lose her. How can I learn to trust? Help!

It looks like trust has been an issue in your past relationships, possibly because of cheating or a tough childhood affecting your relationship with your parents. Let us know if we're on the right track, so we can better help you by learning more about your experiences.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re struggling with trust issues. It’s important to remember that trust is a fundamental part of any relationship. Here are some suggestions that might help:

  1. Self-reflection: Understanding the root cause of your trust issues can be helpful. They could stem from past experiences or insecurities. Reflecting on these can help you understand and manage your feelings better.

  2. Communication: Open and honest communication with your partner about your feelings can be beneficial. It’s important to express your insecurities without blaming or accusing.

  3. Professional Help: Consider seeking help from a professional, such as a therapist or counselor. They can provide strategies and tools to help you navigate your feelings.

  4. Patience: Building trust takes time. Be patient with yourself and your partner during this process.

  5. Independence: It’s healthy for both partners in a relationship to have independence and spend time apart. Try to find comfort in your own company or in the company of your own friends.

Remember, it’s perfectly okay to seek help and take care of your mental health. Trust can be rebuilt with time and effort.
